D.C. & Co.

Hey Gang,

Some fun things coming up that I wanted to let you know about. One thing that has sort of been fun - cause I've had a some time off from gigging, is a case of laryngitis. (I can't say enough about it) The only reason it's been fun, is because you appreciate when you do have your voice but also when you do try to say something or sing something it reminds you of that Brady Bunch episode where they recorded that new sound when Peter or Bobby's voice was changing. Any how, I've tried smoking and drinking even staying out all night. but nothing seems to help.

This weekend, Jazz columnist, keyboardist, and all around good guy, Ray Grunert, is having another one of his fuuuun parties at the Tennis and Yacht club in Lancaster. I've been to a batch of these and it's always been a great time. Ray asked me to invite all of you, because he always has a great time at our gigs and he knows how much fun you are! It's Fri. night from 7:30 - 11:30. The first keg or 2 are on Ray, Diane Dayton spins the music, and it's just a mixed bag of good people sharing some fun. Tell him I sent you!

Oh yea,  I'd like to welcome all the new folks from all around the world that joined our mailing list in the last week or so. Look around the site enjoy some music, (don't hesitate to purchase a CD...) and please keep checking in. There's beers and sodas in the fridge, & we'll be grilling shortly.

Another great event that kicks off this Fri. the 5th is the deck party at the Barnstormers Clipper Stadium. When ever the Barnstormers aren't playing at home on a Friday, they'll have a deck party with great live entertainment from 5:30-9:30. The Love Hater's will kick it off on the 5th of May, We'll be there on May 19th. Come out for happy our and enjoy some great music and some cold beverages. Click here for entire deck party schedule! Hey please check out a children's book that I wrote . It's a fun way to learn or teach how to read. It's called "Down on the Corner of Alphabet Street"  (starring Mr."H") It deals with a reading stumbling block in a fun and imaginative way, that will last for ever. A lady named Jaime Novicki, did a great job illustrating it. (Since then, she's gotten married and moved away, if anyone has contact info on her please email me by clicking here.)  I'm trying to find a publisher and in the meantime I'll be selling it from the site. If anyone has any dealing with children's literary agencies or publishers, please shoot me an email by clicking here. But click here or on the book to view it in it's entirety.  Sorry for the dial-up readers, I'm sure it will take time to load, but I couldn't find a better way to get it viewable on line.

Last but not least.....Thanks to all who made the party last Saturday night at Symposium. It was a rainy couch night but you guys came out and were so much fun. I had to bring some new blood into the band, and they all did a great job. I'd like to thanks Tom Web,(courtisy of the Dave Holt Band) for kicking it on the drums. Wilson Gonzales for jumping in on trumpet, and John Loos (of the 76ers band) for his great Trombone talents. My dear friend Harry Vrooman worked the sound for us. And the rest of the band as always, stepped it up a notch and made sure that it was so much fun for all of us. Thanks Doug Hill for keeping the horns powerful! Mike Bitts keeping the rhythm pumpin'! Gary Miller groovin' on the percussions!! Big Tone Torres for being a monster musician and a part of the music!

I've got to go - God bless!

see ya soon!

Dave
